Hello everyone!
In the  Guardian I came across an interesting  article which raised a very important  topic. The article 'You can taste it in the air' written by several authors. Actually, the article is consisted of people's stories of life in polluted cities. They shared their experience of living in the big cities with bad air condition.
The authors draw our attention to the air pollution problem. These stories are from all over the world, and we can see that this problem is everywhere. People even don't want to go out of their houses."Often, I don’t take my baby outside as I am so concerned about the effect on him. I wear a mask on the days it is above an orange rating."-that's what was said by woman from Hong Kong.
This article is made to draw attention of public and especially of government to solve this problem. Because the air pollution leads to the other anomalies. So, we must decide what we will do with it!

  1. Hello Nurisa,

    thanks for your post

There are a couple of problems with the first sentence: In the Guardian I came across a curious article where was **rised a very important topic.
First, the word order should be different: start with I came...
Second, "curious" is probably wrong: can you specify what you meant by giving me the Ru equivalent. Let's discuss it in class.

Also, do not confuse the verbs "rise", which is intransitive and "raise" which is transitive and thus is followed by a direct object; while "rise" cannot be. Check the following resource: https://owlcation.com/humanities/Grammar_Mishaps__Raise_vs_Rise. I think it gives a good explanation of the differences b/w them

  2. One more thing: it is not common to use quotations in summaries because by definition a summary is the expression of the main ideas of the article or some other piece in your own words.

A reflective note
